PFO Pure Fish Oil Supplements

PFO Pure Fish Oil, made by Health From The Sea, is rapidly becoming the fish oil purchaser’s choice when buying fish oil supplements. PFO Pure Fish Oil is the first fish oil supplement to be molecularly distilled and creatively encapsuled in a gelatin made from fish. Their supplements are derived from the fish oil of deep sea, cold water species of fish, and guaranteed to meet or exceed the United States standards regarding potency and purity.

Researchers, scientists and the media have long debated the health benefits of fish oil. In fact, in the early 1930s, there were some inquiries into whether fish oil benefits included over all improvement to human growth as well as development. In the 1970s, a bunch of Greenland Eskimos all but confirmed that it does. This specific population Eskimos, even though they consumed huge quantities of fat in their diets from all of the seafood they ate, had very little occasions of heart disease.

The consuming public is very fortunate that this research has been conducted and that fish oil benefits are becoming more accepted. The Food and Drug Administration (the “FDA”), who does not regulate fish oil products (i.e., fish oil is categorized, not as a drug but, instead, as a nutritional supplement), issued a qualified health claim in 2004 asserting that “supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA [n-3] fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.” As a result, more and more family doctors and physicians have started recommending fish oil products to their patients.

The omega-3 fatty acids known as docosahexaenoic acid (“DHA”) and eicosapentaenoic acid (“EPA”) are the key to fish oil nutrition. Because human beings are unable to form these essential fatty acids within our bodies, we must acquire them through our diets. The best natural source of these omega-3 fatty acids is through consumption of fish.

However, all species of fish are like us in that they cannot produce omega-3 fatty acids either. Instead, they can get it by either eating certain microalgae that produce the omega-3s, or by eating the fish that are microalgae eaters. Either way, the omega-3 fatty acids end up accumulating in the tissues of the fish.
